25% of Antique’s target fully vaccinated vs COVID

ANTIQUE – As of Nov. 11, 111,243 individuals or 25 percent of the 432,452 target population here were fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 showed the following breakdown vis-à-vis the vaccines that these individuals got:

* 63,303 – Sinovac (two doses)

* 10,171 – AstraZeneca (two doses)

* 5,634 – Pfizer (two doses_

* 2,193 – Gamaleya / Sputnik (two doses)

* Janssen – 26,316 (single dose)

The vaccinees were healthcare workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities, uniformed personnel, and indigent.

According to DOH-6, 139,680 more individuals were waiting for their second dose to be deemed as fully vaccinated, too. Here’s the breakdown:

* Sinovac – 75,805

* AstraZeneca – 11,083

* Pfizer – 20,122

* Gamaleya / Sputnik – 2,395

* Moderna – 3,956

The provincial government has also started vaccinating youngsters from 12 to 17 years old.

It hopes to vaccinate at least 50 percent (216,226) of the target population by the end of December 2021.

The Antique Provincial Health Office (APHO) urged those not yet vaccinated to register at their barangay health centers or contact their Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams, barangay officials or Rural Health Unit.

As of Nov. 14, Antique had 63 active COVID-19 cases, 5,762 cases that recovered and 284 cases that died./PN
