ILOILO City – A total of 28 personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Western Visayas have been infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The recording started in June.
Of these 28 cases, 14 were in Iloilo City, four from the provinces and the rest from the BFP regional office in this city.
BFP Region 6 spokesperson Fire Senior Inspector Stephen Jardeleza said 24 personnel were quarantined at the regional BFP building since Aug. 27. They were asymptomatic.
Some already passed their second test and thus were declared as recovered cases.
The last BFP personnel to test positive was assigned at the regional office; he was finally released on Sept. 11 after he tested negative for COVID in his repeat test. He was among the BFP personnel who underwent testing on Aug. 27.
