ILOILO City – Police arrested three people, including a minor, for allegedly deriding five gay beauticians at a convenience store in Barangay Poblacion, Molo district.
Mark John Belajong, 27, of Sibunag, Guimaras, and Romeo Deduyo, 57, and his minor son also ignored the security guard’s warning that the minor cannot be allowed to drink at the store, a police report showed.
Beauticians Bernie Alba, 28, Wilfredo Velasco, 27, Dirk Azucena, 34, Justin Ardonia, 24, and Darwin Abria, 34, went inside the convenience store around 1:15 a.m. on July 24.
Belajong approached Alba and caressed his right arm, prompting the latter to elbow the former. Deduyo then “uttered [a] defamatory statement” aimed at the beauticians, the police report stated.
Annoyed, the beauticians asked the three what their problem was. That was when Deduyo’s son tried to attack them. The security guard told them to settle down but was ignored, causing him to call the police.
Belajong and Deduyo were taken to the Molo police station while the minor was placed in the custody of the station’s Women and Children Protection Desk./PN
