MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) has dismissed three so-called “ninja cops” from the anomalous 2013 Pampanga buy-bust operation.
PNP officer-in-charge Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa said that he ordered the dismissal of police Master Sergeants Donald Roque and Rommel Vital, including Corporal Romeo Guerrero Jr.
“We have already dismissed 3 of the 13 cops involved in the Pampanga raid for another grave offense in Antipolo,” Gamboa said in a Camp Crame press briefing on Monday.
The three dismissed officials were among the 13 former members of the Pampanga police under the watch of former PNP chief General Oscar Albayalde. They were accused in 2013 of pilfering some 160 kilos of shabu from an operation against a Chinese drug lord.
However, the dismissal of the three were not related to the said Pampanga raid six years ago and instead in an operation last May where they allegedly fired at the vehicle of a certain Arnold Gramaje Jr. after he refused their order to alight.
Gramaje managed to escape but Roque, Vital and Guerrero followed him home and allegedly carted away P30,000 and several gadgets.
Gamboa also ordered the PNP-Internal Affairs Service to review its recommendation for sanction on Lt. Joven De Guzman, who was only recommended for suspension for 59 days for a lesser offense. De Guzman was linked to the operations in Pampanga and Antipolo City.
“Yung demand ko he will be charged again but this time for a graver offense and sa nakikita ko sa records, there is enough and substantial evidence then I think he will also be dismissed from the service,” said Gamboa./PN
