ILOILO City – A total of 365,908 senior citizens in Region 6 have already received their social pension this year.
“In the country, ang Region 6 pa lang ang naka–una disburse sa aton pensioners,” said Mariecar Labinghisa, social welfare officer and focal person of the Social Pension Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 6.
DSWD-6 conducts the pay out every semester, particularly in June and December, in the local government units.
Each recipient gets P3,000 per semester.
“Nagakadto gid kami sa mga banwa but we still coordinate sa local chief executives kon ano ang ila protocols. May ara nga ginakadtoan gid sa barangay para indi mabudlayan ang mga tigulang,” Labinghisa told Panay News.
Meanwhile, starting next year, Labinghisa said the payout would be per quarter following the Memorandum Circular No. 16 of the House of Representatives, amending Resolution No. 1047, urging DSWD to release the social pension every three months.

* Aklan – 45,826 recipients with P137,478,000 budget
* Antique – 40,440 recipients with P121,320,000 budget
* Capiz – 54,953 recipients with P164,859,000 budget
* Guimaras – 14,643 recipients with P43,929,000 budget
* Iloilo province – 147,444 recipients with P442,232,000 budget
* Negros Occidental – 46,699 recipients with P140,097,000 budget
* Iloilo City – 13,190 recipients with P39,570,000 budget
* Bacolod City – 2,713 recipients with P8,139,000 budget
