ILOILO – The city government of Iloilo and 38 local government units in Iloilo province have liquidated their special Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
Only the following in Iloilo province have not: Passi City, Lemery, Igbaras, San Joaquin, and Oton.
As of Sept. 2 80.06 percent of the P2.6-billion special AICS was released to families affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the city and province of Iloilo, according to May Rago, information officer of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 6.
Data from DSWD-6 also showed P2,189,877,000 have been disbursed to 672,312 families (2,189,877 individuals).
Rago also said Iloilo City and Lemery town requested for additional funding, and this was approved .
The city got an additional P60,159,000 while Lemery received P12,904,000.
The distribution of cash assistance is still ongoing in Lemery and Iloilo City.
Calinog also requested for additional AICS. The approval is still pending.
Nine towns have so far refunded the excess funds totaling to P55.6 million: Bingawan – P2.9 million, Cabatuan – P11 million, Barotac Viejo – P5.6 million, Miag-ao – P13.8 million, Mina – P6.3 million, Maasin – P4 million, and Dingle – P12 million.
“This means bayad na tanan nga eligible beneficiaries and sobra ila money. So balik ‘na nila sa amon sa DSWD, issue-han sila official receipt,” said Rago./PN
