BACOLOD City — Four individuals were arrested in separate police operations involving illegal drugs, robbery, and an alleged firearm violation in Bacolod City on September 9.
Operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized around 12 grams of suspected shabu in two anti-drug operations and recovered a .22-caliber revolver from a suspect in a residential robbery case.
Three of the four suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations that yielded suspected shabu with a combined estimated value of P85,000, according to police.
At around 9:12 p.m., joint operatives of Police Station 3 (PS3) and the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok Mahimulaton, Barangay Banago.
The operation resulted in the arrest of two 20-year-old men, both residents of Barangay Banago.
Police said they recovered about five grams of suspected shabu valued at P37,400 from the two suspects.
Less than an hour later, at about 10:03 p.m., personnel of the Police Station 4 Special Drug Enforcement Team (PS4 SDET) conducted another buy-bust operation in Purok Cabachawan, Barangay Villamonte.
A 26-year-old man from Barangay 18 was arrested in the operation.
Police reportedly seized approximately seven grams of suspected shabu valued at P47,600, along with buy-bust money and a coin purse.
At around 11 p.m., police responded to a distress call involving an alleged residential robbery in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Police said a 50-year-old resident discovered an intruder who had allegedly forced his way into the house.
When confronted, the suspect reportedly attempted to escape by jumping over a hollow-block fence.
Responding personnel from Police Station 8 (PS8) pursued the suspect and eventually cornered him. A brief struggle reportedly ensued before officers subdued and arrested the 27-year-old man from Barangay Banago.
A .22-caliber revolver was recovered from the suspect, police said.
He is expected to face charges for robbery and alleged illegal possession of a firearm under Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The four suspects remain in police custody and are expected to face appropriate charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
BCPO City Director Col. Eugene N. Rebadomia commended the police units involved in the operations, highlighting the importance of swift police response and community cooperation in addressing criminal activities.
