4 killed, 8 injured in Negros Occ. bus crash

BACOLOD City – Four were killed and eight were injured after a Ceres bus fell of a ravine in Barangay Igmayaan, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

The municipal police station officer-in-charge Jerald Muya identified the fatalities as Irene Flores of Barangay Banago, Rainera and Christian Jude Leonida of Barangay Tangub, and Jason Manaba of Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

According to police investigation, the Bacolod City bound bus fell of a ravine after the driver lost control around 8:30 p.m. on Monday.

Muya also identified the casualties as Jean Layumas of San Carlos City; Jude Carlo Dio-an of Manapla, Negros Occidental;  Junray Trabajar of Don Salvador Benedicto;  Jun Moyeta of Barangay Mandalagan; Diane Leonida of Barangay Tangub; Romeo Tan Alo of Barangay Banago; bus driver Jezer Rasonable of Barangay Mansilingan, and bus conductor Mark Riovoca of Barangay Banago.

According to Vallacar Transit Inc. legal and media relations officer Jade Seballos, they already gave medical aid to the casualties and deployed personnel to assist the affected families of the bus accident./PN
