ILOILO City – This city may soon have four more police stations and four substations to strengthen security and peace and order, according to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
Mayor Jerry Treñas already requested the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) for 250 to 300 more personnel to man the police stations.
The mayor will help the ICPO find lots for the additional police stations and provide the budget, vehicles, handheld radios, and other police equipment.
The proposed police stations would be located in Jaro district (two), City Proper (one) and La Paz (one).
The substations, meanwhile, will be in Jaro, Arevalo, Mandurriao, and Molo districts.
The city has six existing police stations.
“This is for the betterment of our city and we are thankful to the LGU (local government unit) especially to our mayor who is very supportive,” said Police Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, city police director./PN
