ILOILO City – Four persons were arrested for illegal gambling in Barangay Sooc, Arevalo district.
They were Arsenio Pedroso, 64; Delia Pderoso, 62; Nancy Pedroso, 60; and Japith Agtong, 25 – all residents of the village, a police report showed.
They were caught playing the card game tong-its on Jan. 31, the report added.
Recovered from their possession were a deck of playing cards and gambling money worth P660.
Detained in the Arevalo police station, the suspects face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
