4 yield P2-M shabu

ILOILO City – Four illegal drug suspects were arrested yesterday at Deca Homes Subdivision in Barangay Balabag, Santa Barbara, Iloilo. They yielded P2-million worth of shabu.

The following were taken to the Santa Barbara police station:

* Jan Herbert Roxas, 43, of San Roque Extension, Roxas City

* Hersky Cabarlo, 43, of Barangay Poblacion  Ilawod, Dumarao, Capiz

* Rudini Arabacan, 36, of Barangay Cagay, Roxas City

* Roseler Villalba, 39, of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Dumarao, Capiz

The suspects were arrested at around 2:30 p.m. in an entrapment operation of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and Regional Intelligence Division. An undercover police officer bought from them a sachet of shabu for P2,000.

More shabu were recovered from them – in 17 big heat-sealed plastic sachets and in a round transparent plastic container – weighing 213 grams and valued at around P2 million.

The suspects face a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Prior to the entrapment, the suspects were placed under nearly a month of surveillance, said Police Lieutenant Colonel Gilbert Gorero, spokesperson of the PRO-6.

Police Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, regional police director, applauded the operation.

“We will continue our relentless operation against illegal drugs amid the pandemic until we have arrested and jailed the last illegal drug dealer or pusher in Western Visayas,” he said.
