KALIBO, Aklan – Police nabbed a 43-year old woman in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Estancia, Kalibo on March 21, 2022.
The anti-drug operation resulted in the arrest of Rodelia Doroteo Ventura, a resident of Barangay New Buswang, Kalibo. The buy-bust operation took place at around 1:30 p.m. near a bus terminal.
Ventura, a part-time real estate broker, allegedly sold a medium heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman in exchange for P7,000 buy-bust money.
“The box was sent from Manila, I picked it up at the terminal. What was given to me was the tracking number. They will pay me after they get it,” the suspect said.
Ventura drove to the bus terminal to pick up the box before her arrest. The suspect claimed she is being paid to retrieve the box for P4,000.
“I don’t know the contents of the box. The last time we talked this morning,” she added.
Operatives of Kalibo municipal police station together with Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the joint buy-bust operation.
The operating teams also seized from the suspect were six plastic sachets of shabu inside a pair of black socks with masking tape, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle unit.
Ventura will be charged for selling prohibited drugs (Section 5) and possession of prohibited drugs (Section 11), Article II of Republic Act 9165./PN
