ILOILO City – Pedro Layawon tried to stop an altercation between his friends and another group of people from turning into a full-blown brawl.

But Layawon was the one who got hauled to the custodial facility of the police station in Lambunao, Iloilo.

Responding police officers seized a homemade .45-caliber pistol from the 56-year-old resident of Barangay Bonbon, Lambunao.

The firearm was loaded with seven bullets, a police report showed.
