5 drug suspects arrested in Roxas

ROXAS City – Five persons were arrested in two separate drug buy-bust operations in this capital city on Friday.

Officers from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Senior Inspector Hilbert Gervero caught the 42-year-old Bonifacio Villaruz and wife Theresa, 43, around 4:30 p.m. that day after they sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,000 in Barangay San Jose.

Bonifacio is a high-level drug suspect while his wife, a newly identified street level target, police said.

Recovered from them were three sachets of suspected shabu, the marked money and a cellphone.

Police also confiscated the couple’s Honda TMX motorcycle.

In Barangay Bato, three drug suspects were arrested. They were the 29-year-old Luigi Loyola of Barangay Punta Tabuc in the city and Pontevedra, Capiz residents Alfred Dais and Eduardo Bulaclac, police said.

Members of the Roxas City police station Drug Enforcement Unit staged the entrapment operation.

Recovered from the suspects were 13 sachets of suspected shabu with a street market value of P60,000, police said.

All the five suspects were detained at the Roxas City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
