ILOILO City – Police arrested five persons engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Ilaud Poblacion, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
They were identified as Tancy Bayona, 37; Emmanuel Guillema, 22,; Carlos Dulla, 26; Felix Gallardo, 38; and Maruel Berlarmino, 29.
According to police investigation, the suspects were caught playing and betting on billiards around 4 p.m. on Jan. 6.
Seized from their possession were bet money which amounted to P3,144, 22 pieces of cue sticks and billiard balls.
The suspects were detained in the lockup facility of the Barotac Nuevo police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9287, or an act increasing penalties for illegal numbers games./PN
