50% of NegOcc LGUs set ‘holiday timeout’ vs LSIs

BACOLOD City – Half of the 32 local government units in Negros Occidental, including this capital city, imposed a moratorium on the arrival of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from mid-December to the first week of January next year.

At least 16 towns and cities in the province will not accept LSIs on specific dates approved by the Western Visayas Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) through their respective resolutions.

Here are the moratorium schedules:

* Ilog – Dec. 20 to Jan. 3

* La Carlota City – Dec. 22 to Jan. 2

* Pontevedra – Dec. 22 to Jan. 5

* Cauayan – Dec. 20 to Jan. 3

* Himamaylan City, Victorias City and Calatrava – Dec. 21 to Jan. 3

* Bacolod City – Dec. 21 to Jan. 3

* Hinoba-an – Dec. 16 to 22

* La Castellana – Dec. 22 to Jan. 5

* Candoni from – Dec. 17 to 31

* Moises Padilla – Dec. 21 to Jan. 2

* Valladolid – Dec. 24 to Jan. 1

* Sipalay City – Dec. 20 to Jan. 2

* Murcia – Dec. 16 to Jan. 4

* Bago City – Dec. 16 to Jan. 1
The provincial government itself also got an approval from the RIATF through Resolution 84, suspending the arrival of LSIs and returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) to Negros Occidental on Dec. 24 and 25, Dec. 31, and Jan. 1.

In asking for a travel moratorium, the LGUs cited reasons like disinfection, decongestion and reorganization of quarantine facilities and reprieve for frontliners deployed to manage the arrivals of repatriates in the province./PN
