ILOILO City – Five hundred twenty-one policemen across Western Visayas were promoted to the next higher rank.
Of these cops, 24 were police commissioned officers and 497 were police non-commissioned officers.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office had the most number of promoted police personnel at 148, followed by Aklan with 89, Capiz with 77, Antique with 75, Iloilo City with 59, the regional police headquarters with 44, Guimaras with 24, and Regional Public Safety Battalion with five.
According to Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, regional police office spokesperson, those promoted had the rank of Police Officer 2. They are now Chief Inspector.
The donning of ranks was held yesterday at the multipurpose hall of the Police Regional Office 6 in Camp Delgado.
Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, regional police director, congratulated his personnel and challenged them to do better.
“I hope you will deliver more accomplishments and do better for the public. Be productive,” Binag told them.
