HAMTIC, Antique – Seven persons were arrested in a separate illegal gambling operations in this town.
Three suspects playing “tong-its” were collared at the house of Ma. Loida Silvestre in Barangay Mapatag on Monday afternoon, October 12.
They were detained at the Hamtic police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602.
Meanwhile, in last week’s raid, Hamtic police caught four persons engaging in illegal cards game at the house of Maximo delos Santos in Barangay Malandog. The suspects were detained but were set free after posting bail of P5,000 each.
Hamtic police chief, Major Adolfo Pagharion, said the series of law enforcement activities in the town is in response to the call of Antique Police Provincial Office director, Col. Roy Parena, for a sustained operation against all forms of illegal gambling./PN
