ILOILO City – Seven persons were caught engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Duyan-Duyan, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
They were Charles Pacaonsis, 42; Rex Lozada, 49; Alex Alegrado, 43; Wilson Ares, 56; Pedro Bonto, 45; and John Lieven, 43, a police report showed.
The suspects – all residents of the village – were nabbed after police officers chanced upon them playing pusoy around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 24.
Recovered from their possession were bet money which amounted to P1,400 and a set of playing card, police said.
The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, or the anti-illegal gambling law./PN
