ILOILO City – Since July 1, 782 individuals listed in the Western Visayas police’s drug watch list have been neutralized.
These 782 were “high-value” and “low-value” targets, according to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6). Of these, 623 were drug pushers and 159 were users.
PRO-6 records showed that 14 of the 782 were killed.
According to Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, PRO-6 spokesperson, more drug personalities will be neutralized in the coming months.
As of Sept. 18, PRO-6’s records also showed a total of 17,475 surrenderees (both the police-listed drug personalities and the unlisted). Of these, 1,114 were drug pushers and 16,361 drug users.
Iloilo province had the most number of surrenderees at 6,582 followed by Capiz with 5,269; Aklan with 1,826; Antique with 1,037; Guimaras with 629; and Iloilo City with 2,132.
“The number reached 17,475 due to our house-to-house visitations,” said Gorero.
