8 COVID-19 cases in Capiz left

CAPIZ – Cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in this province are continuously decreasing.

As of Jan. 6, there were only eight active cases left out of the 13,615 cumulative cases recorded since Capiz’s first case in 2020, data from the Capiz Provincial COVID-19 Cases Bulletin showed.

Of the eight cases, four were newly logged.

Data further showed that 95.71 percent or 13,031 infected persons recovered from the disease while 576, or 4.23 percent died.

Relative to this, the health care utilization rate (HCUR) of the province is also low.

Total HCUR is at 26.50 percent; only 31 of 117 hospital beds are currently in use.

Aside from the improvement in the cases, the bulletin also showed the province’s COVID-19 vaccination accomplishment report.

As of Jan. 6 91.54 percent, or 533,991 of the target population were fully vaccinated while 84,966 individuals or 14.59 percent had received booster shots./PN
