ILOILO City – In Barangay Cayan Este, Lambunao, Iloilo the police arrested a man for illegal discharge of firearm.
They seized Rodolfo Lebrilla’s 12-gauge shotgun and detained him at the Lambunao police station on Tuesday around 6 p.m.
Neighbors of Lebrilla sought the police’s help after the suspect fired his gun.
Lebrilla faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. He did not have a gun license.
Under the implementing rules and regulations of the Act, for one to qualify and acquire a license to own and possess a firearm or firearms and ammunition, the applicant must be:
a) a Filipino citizen;
b) at least 21 years old at the time of the filing of his/her written application to own and possess a firearm or firearms;
(c) has gainful work, occupation, or business or has filed an Income Tax Return (ITR) for the preceding year as proof of income, profession, business or occupation./PN
