BACOLOD City – Two men were found dead in this city and Dumaguete City.
Reggie De La Peña, 38, was discovered lifeless around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday in his house at the Arao relocation site in Barangay Vista Alegre here, police said. A neighbor, 46-year-old Arlene Cascano, found him.
His family told the police De La Peña was suffering from an ailment but it was not immediately clear what.
On May 31, Jade Anthony Sayson, 26, was found dead along a road in Barangay Bajumpandan, Dumaguete City around 6:05 a.m.
The resident of Barangay San Miguel, Bacong, Negros Oriental had five gunshot wounds on the body inflicted by .9mm and .45-caliber firearms, police said.
Police believed Sayson was dumped in Bajumpandan. Citing witnesses, they said Sayson was mauled by a group of people around 1 a.m. in Barangay Calindagan, also in Dumaguete.
Officers said the witnesses heard five gunshots and a vehicle speeding off.
Police found in Calindagan four empty shells, a live bullet and a small plastic pack of suspected shabu. They have yet to establish the motive and identify the suspects./PN
