BACOLOD City – A 32-year-old resident of Barangay Handumanan reported to Police Station 1 that two public plaza guards hurt him on Thursday.

John Leo Togle claimed he was sleeping while seated at the plaza around 8:30 a.m. when Lorenzo Agsam of Barangay 12 and Rolando Carmona of Barangay 1 woke him up and hit him with a bamboo stick. He complained of pains on the right waist and upper shoulder.

Agsam and Carmona, on the other hand, claimed they found Togle sleeping and woke him up, but the latter snapped at them, saying, “Ka mga gago sa inyo, gakatulog ang tao di, pukawon niyo, daw kamo ang tag-iya sang plaza nga ini (How dare you wake me up! You’re so stupid, acting like you own this plaza).”

Eight other plaza guards were making rounds at the time, Agsam and Carmona said.

The guards said they tried to arrest Togle, resulting in a grappling, but the latter managed to escape./PN
