ILOILO City – Two separate antidrug operations netted three men. They belonged to a new drug group, according to the police.
First to be arrested were Edison Locsin, 39, and Jovernal Yabot, 39. Around 5 p.m. on Wednesday policemen busted them in Barangay Hipodromo, City Proper.
Locsin yielded 65 sachets of shabu valued at P20,000 and two .38 revolvers, said Senior Superintendent Christopher Tambungan, regional director for operations of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
Tambungan led the operation as chairperson of the PRO-6’s oversight committee on illegal drugs. Illegal drug paraphernalia were recovered from Yabot, he said.
Locsin was a resident of Barangay Boulevard, Molo district while Yabot was from Barangay Calumpang, also in the same district.
Yabot denied peddling shabu. He claimed what were recovered from him and Locsin were “planted.”
