BACOLOD City – Councilors asked the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to put up a branch in this city.

The LTFRB extension office here was closed in January due to allegations of corruption among its personnel, the Sangguniang Panlungsod said in a resolution authored by Renecito Novero and approved on Wednesday.

An LTFRB branch in Bacolod will “address the needs of the public transport stakeholders without the need to travel to Iloilo City,” the city council said.

There are around 10,316 registered vehicles-for-hire in Bacolod, the councilors said, citing Land Transportation Office records.

A copy of the resolution was set to be furnished to LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III./PN
