ILOILO City – Illegal gambling charges may be filed against a 45-year-old woman from the component city of Passi.

Officers caught Myrna Sumbang, a resident of Barangay Quinagaringan Pequeño, Passi, collecting bets for the illegal numbers game “bookies,” a police report showed.

Police asked for any identification card showing that she is an authorized Small Town Lottery (STL) collector but Sumbang failed to present one.

Officers checked further and found out that she was not an authorized sales representative for STL in Passi City.

A bundle of cotejos (betting stubs), a ball pen and P40 cash were recovered from her.

She was detained at the Passi City police station after her arrest around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday./PN
