KALIBO, Aklan – Boracay was the second best island in Asia, according to the Travel + Leisure magazine
The island resort got a score of 89.67 next to Palawan with 93.15.
Bali in Indonesia scored 87.61 for the third spot.
Panglao Island in Bohol landed in fourth place with 87.37.
Rounding out the top 10 were Maldives, 86.69 (fifth); Cebu, 86.48 (sixth); Phuket, Thailand, 84.13 (seventh); Luzon, 83.07 (eighth); Sri Lanka, 82.57 (ninth) and Koi Samui, Thailand, 82.43 (10th).
The 22nd annual list was published by Travel + Leisure this July.
It was based on the survey conducted by the magazine editors from Nov. 7, 2016 to March 6, 2017.
The respondents were asked to rate the best islands in Asia based on natural attractions/beaches, activities/sights, restaurants/food, people/friendliness, and value for money.
Travel + Leisure also named Discovery Shores Boracay in the Top 10 Resort Hotels in Southeast Asia. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
