BACOLOD City – A dry run for a three-way traffic scheme on Lacson Street will be conducted today.
Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head Superintendent Luisito Acebuche said it will start from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“It’s the time when there is heavy traffic. The road going north is congested,” he said.
Three lanes will go north while one lane will go south, the BTAO head explained.
“If it (dry run) will be successful, we will follow it by Monday,” he said.
The dry run is part of the road closure and rerouting to give way to a flyover construction on Araneta and Magsaysay streets.
Acebuche said these will prevent traffic congestion and any untoward incident during the flyover construction.
Repair and reinstallation of road signs in all major roads and streets in the city will also be conducted, a resolution read.
“There is a need to repair and reinstall the dilapidated traffic signage to ensure the safe flow of vehicles,” Councilor Em Ang said.
