ILOILO City – A firearm and two grenades were seized from a drunken man yesterday in Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz.
The 36-year-old Jimmy Fabillar of Barangay Mabinay, Negros Oriental was arrested and detained at the President Roxas police station.
A resident called the police and reported a man – Fabillar – armed with a 12-gauge shotgun and threatening some locals around 1 a.m.
Fabillar tried to run away upon seeing the responding police officers but the latter got to him and arrested him.
The officers also found two grenades in Fabillar’s sling bag.
Fabillar was facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
On Saturday night, another drunken man was arrested in Capiz, this time for hacking his younger brother.
The 52-year-old Joseph Atienza of Barangay Balucuan, Dao town was detained at the municipal police station.
Atienza was acting unruly around 9 p.m. His younger brother Jeny, 40, tried to calm him down but Atienza hacked the former on the head, a police report showed.
Jeny was confined at the Dao District Hospital./PN
