ILOILO City – Accused of stealing native chickens, a farmer from Barangay Tentay, Sara, Iloilo had been shot and killed.
The 32-year-old Raymond Santiago sustained gunshot wounds on the right side of the body.
Police identified the suspect as the 61-year-old Eddie Cordero of the same village.
Cordero turned himself in to officers and was detained at the municipal police station.
He attacked Santiago in an abandoned house in Tentay around 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 using a 12-gauge shotgun, a police report showed.
Cordero accused Santiago of stealing his eight native chickens in his nipa hut and keeping them in that house, police said./PN
