ILOILO City – A former seminarian was arrested in Barangay Poblacion V, Roxas City.

The 46-year-old Fritz Aguihap of Barangay Dayao, also in Roxas City, was a suspected illegal drug dealer, police said.

Sometime last year, the police urged Aguihap to turn himself in upon learning that he was an alleged drug user, but he refused, said Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.

“Recently, we received information that he was engaged in the drug trade and in possession of a huge amount of drugs,” Nacion said.

Around 10 p.m. on Friday, an undercover officer bought from Aguihap a plastic pack of shabu for P500, police said.

Nine more sachets of shabu weighing about 5 grams and valued at P30,000 were seized from him after his arrest.

Aside from these, Aguihap also yielded a pack of marijuana, a .45 pistol loaded with 15 bullets in a holster, and drug paraphernalia, police said.

The suspect was detained at the Roxas City police station.

According to Nacion, Aguihap was delivering illegal drugs via a black multi-cab with plate number YGU-357.

Aguihap was facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Nacion said they have yet to determine where the suspect gets his supply and who his buyers were./PN
