ILOILO City – In Barangay Magdalo, La Paz, a resident was accused of mauling a boardinghouse tenant.
The 50-year-old Paul Gellada was arrested and detained at the district police station.
Kevin Bautista, 18, complained to the police that a certain “Paul” attacked him around 2 p.m. on Aug. 31.
Bautista, a resident of Barangay Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental, was renting a space at a boardinghouse owned by Sammy Villanis in Barangay Magdalo, La Paz.
Paul shouted, “Guwa di bala (Come out),” Bautista told the police.
He obliged, and then Paul attacked him but he did not know why, Bautista claimed.
Bautista sought help from the police. Along with two officers, they went to the area to find Paul, but he was not there.
Around 3:20 p.m., Gellada went to the La Paz police station supposedly to report the incident. That was when Bautista identified him as the “Paul” he was complaining about./PN
