ILOILO City – Identified only as “Janice,” a mentally ill woman attacked two people in separate incidents in Mandurriao district, a police report showed.
Elvira Quiando, 53, of Barangay Boulevard, Molo was about to sit at a waiting shed in front of Western Visayas Medical Center when Janice splashed water on the seat.
“Day, binasyahan mo kay mapungko kami,” the police report quoted Quiando as telling Janice at the time, around 6:20 a.m. on Aug. 31.
Apparently irked, Janice grabbed a bladed weapon and swung at Quiando, wounding the latter’s arm, police said.
A few minutes later, around 6:40 a.m., Edwin Jamolo, 61, of Barangay Dungon C, Mandurriao was driving when Janice lied down in front of his car.
Jamolo pulled over and disembarked to help Janice but, to his surprise, the latter threw a rock at him, hitting him on the left eye, police said.
Quiando and Jamolo were advised to seek medical treatment.
Janice was taken to the City Social Welfare and Development Office unit in Mandurriao./PN
