ILOILO City – For allegedly stealing a steel gate and steel bars, a man was arrested in Barangay South Fundidor, Molo district.
The suspect, Jessie Lastite, admitted that he took the steel gate but not the steel bars, a police report showed.
The 70-year-old resident Enrique Te Chang owned the allegedly stolen items.
One of his helpers, Catalino Tacardon, informed him on Aug. 16 that their steel gate worth P5,000 and assorted steel bars worth P10,000 were missing, police said.
Chang sought help from South Fundidor barangay captain Jonathan Altura in tracking the suspect, said the police.
Police was letting the barangay lupon handle the case./PN
