ILOILO City – A husband and wife were arrested in an antidrug buy-bust operation of the police in Barangay Baluyan, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
An undercover police officer was able to buy from Joeven Pasiderio, 39, and wife Charry, 31, a sachet of shabu for P500 yesterday.
Twenty more sachets were recovered from the suspects, said Senior Inspector Sullen Domingo, Cabatuan police chief. These were valued at P11,000.
The Pasiderios, however, denied peddling shabu.
“My husband was asleep when policemen entered our house. They immediately arrested us,” said Charry.
She added: “I do not have an idea who owned those shabu. I believe the policemen placed them there.”
Joeven, a tricycle driver, echoed his wife’s statements.
Domingo, however, said “Joeven is a tokhang surrenderee and we identified him as a drug pusher with his wife.”
The Pasiderio couple was placed under surveillance for two months prior to yesterday’s buy-bust, added Domingo.
He believed the suspects got their supply from Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The Pasiderios were detained at the Cabatuan police station. They face a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
