KALIBO, Aklan – “Green products” from the province were featured in a product exhibition at the SM City Iloilo Event Center in Madurriao, Iloilo City.
The Aklan Green Product Expo 2017 started yesterday and will end on Oct. 1.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI-Aklan) set the event’s “Go Green! Go Natural!” theme to highlight the craftsmanship and innovative designs of Aklanon entrepreneurs.
A total of 31 micro, small and medium enterprises and their partner local government units in Aklan featured festive season decorations, naturally-dyed wearables, fashion accessories, home and office items using indigenous fibers and reprocessed wood, and Aklan’s well-known meat and bakery products, said DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Ma. Carmen Iturralde.
The product expo will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The event was organized by the DTI in partnership with Hugod Aklanon Producers Association, Inc., and the provincial government.
Iturralde said the expo targets to earn P7 million sales. (PIA/PN)
