ILOILO City – This city is hosting another national event. Tourism officers from all over the country are here for the 18th ATOP National Convention and Pearl Awards.
A colorful parade of festivals kicked off the convention yesterday. This gathering of the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines wraps up on Oct. 7.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 6 director Helen Catalbas previously said her office would ensure that Western Visayas’ hosting would be an unforgettable experience for the delegates and awardees.
“Hosting big events like the ATOP National Convention and Pearl Awards is an opportunity to showcase the best tourism practices, products and services of Western Visayas,” said Catalbas.
Delegates got warn reception at the Iloilo Airport, Iloilo City Port, Guimaras Jordan Wharf and Bacolod City Port during arrival.
At the Pearl Awards Night, promotional materials would be included in the convention kits.
The ATOP Pearl Awards recognizes the best of Philippine tourism industry. The awards to be given in this event will include the following:
