BACOLOD City – A man was injured after an improvised explosive device detonated in Barangay Magticol, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
The 44-year-old resident James Yap sustained injuries on the left hand and different other parts of the body, a police report showed.
Yap accidentally poked the explosive on the table in his house, causing the explosion, the report stated.
He was rushed to the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sagay City but later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city.
From what the police gathered so far, Yap – who was drunk – went berserk looking for his wife before the explosion.
The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Sept. 30.
Police were still investigating the incident./PN
