SAN JOSE, Antique – The provincial government is asking Antiquenos to lend pre-World War II photos of the province.
The pictures will be displayed during the Biniyaran Festival grand photo exhibit in December.
The exhibit will give Antiquenos and tourists “a glimpse of the glorious past,” according to Provincial Information Officer Eric Otayde.
The photo exhibit is one of the new events of the festival, Otayde added.
The photos may be of people, churches, homes, landscapes, and other edifices before the war.
“We need those old pictures you keep in your treasure chests. We want to appreciate our past as a province more,” said Otayde.
Moreover, the festival will feature a “Parada ng Lahi” to be participated by all 18 towns in the province.
A 42-kilometer marathon will also be held. It will offer cash prizes that range from P25,000 to P100,000.
On Dec. 26, the provincial government will also hold a grand ballroom event to raise funds for the construction of waiting sheds with toilets in front of the eight hospitals in the province. (PNA/PN)
