VOLLEYBALL squads of Bacolod Tay Tung High School and University of St. La Salle (USLS) Bacolod are set to square off in the curtain-raiser of the Premier Volleyball League on Tour Bacolod leg today at the USLS gym in Bacolod City.
The Tay Tung-USLS match was scheduled at 2 p.m. Creamline Cool Smashers vs Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors and Perlas-BanKo Lady Spikers vs Hair Fairty Air Force Jet Spikers will follow at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
Jose Montalbo, Tay Tung’s vice chairman for sports, said the local teams’ exhibition will be a preview of their match in the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) Meet.
“We expect their exhibition match to be a good one since it will serve as their pre-match before they compete in the NOPSSCEA,” said Montalbo. “I am sure that it will entertain those who were waiting for the PVL on Tour games.”
“At the same time,” he added, “it will test our volleyball team since USLS is in the process of building a very competitive lineup.”
Meanwhile, VIP ticket holders will have a chance to take pictures with and get autographs of the PVL players during a meet-and-greet session from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Early comers may participate in the parlor games the organizers have prepared. The gates of the USLS gym will open at 1 p.m./PN
