IT TOOK me by surprise when I realized I forgot to submit a column last week. The days just flew by. I only realized it was Wednesday evening when it was too late.
Even now I am running against the clock trying to squeeze out a good column from my brain cells. Should I talk about the ubiquitous jeepney strikes? Duterte’s “revolutionary government”? The roasting of Central Philippine University president Teodoro Robles on Aksyon Radyo? Or the fact that “The Mountain” will be coming out in Philippine primetime television through the umm… unique teleserye “Super Ma’am”?
Though I wish I could discuss something with depth today, I feel that my mind has been drained. Maybe it’s the hectic schedule, my sudden addiction to the Bing Bang Theory that has shut me out from the real world; or maybe it’s just the fact that writing can be really hard.
It’s true, no matter how interesting or fun you want to make an article sound, if you’re not in the groove or if you haven’t got a flow you will end up with a half-baked meh article.
So that’s what I have here. Perhaps some of you will be annoyed after reading this. Maybe you feel that you wasted so many precious minutes of your lives reading and re-reading trying to decipher my run-on sentences. But I think it’s important that you get articles like this sometimes. It’s light, it’s eye-opening to the fact that writing quality work is one of the hardest things to do, but most importantly, it’s a chance for me to share another rant!
