ILOILO City – A man complained to the La Paz police station that motorcycle-riding men “whipped” him.
Gernie John Balance Gajo was walking in Barangay Magdalo in the district when four motorcycles, with two people on board each, drove past him.
Riders of one of the motorcycles struck Gajo with a whip on the different parts of the body, a police report showed.
The incident prompted Gajo to run to a bunkhouse on corner Mabini-Magdalo streets for safety.
Gajo said this happened at around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 24. He just went out of the iMart convenience store at the time, he said.
According to Gajo, the culprits were wearing bonnets.
It was not immediately clear if the police have identified the culprits.
Officers advised Gajo to get himself checked by a physician.
Over on Burgos Street in the same district, an Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) student punched an opponent during a basketball game, a police report showed.
Jason Atijon Fargarita told the police he was hit on the left face.
Fargarita identified his attacker only as a certain “Aguillon,” an ISAT-U student.
He said the incident happened at around 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 16 when their game at the ISAT-U campus was about to end.
Aguillon was from the opposing team, Fargarita told the police.
Fargarita was referred to the West Visayas State University Medical Center on E. Lopez Street, Jaro for a checkup./PN
