ILOILO – Eleven lawyers were hired to serve in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 6.
They were tasked to speedily resolve cases at the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENROs) and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs).
Atty. Randy R. Agot was assigned in PENRO-Aklan; Atty. Gemayel Kemal I. Gonzales, PENRO-Capiz; Atty. R’Jay L. Pestaño, CENRO-Mambusao; Atty. Shereal M. Ferrer, PENRO-Guimaras; and Atty. Eric Volter A. Ortigas, CENRO-Sara;
Atty. Albet Salvador R. Pe II was detailed in CENRO-Culasi; Atty. Rommel John G. Edang, CENRO-Guimbal; Atty. Ma. Juanna Ester D. Senupe, CENRO-Barotac Nuevo; Atty. Ceril Lyn Burro, CENRO-Bago City; Atty. Bronwen May A. Lagura-Gayongorsa, CENRO-Kabankalan City; and Atty. Pevi Mae Jalipa, CENRO-Belison.
Atty. Elizur G. Militar, OIC-chief of the Legal Division, presented the newly hired environmental lawyers to Regional Director Jim O Sampulna and Assistant Regional Director for Management Services Atty. Noel C. Empleo at the DENR-6 courtyard on Monday.
Sampulna said the lawyers are expected to help the DENR-6 “bring government service closer to the public” and “[be] responsive to the people’s needs.”
Environment secretary Roy Cimatu ordered the nationwide hiring of environmental lawyers to strengthen the PENROs and the CENROs. (With DENR-6/PN)
