KALIBO, Aklan – Parts of Aklan and Antique provinces will be without electricity for 10 hours – from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. – on Oct. 30.

The power interruption will give way to the scheduled preventive maintenance work at the Nabas-Lezo 69-kilovolt transmission line, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NCGP) said in an advisory.

It will affect the service areas of the Aklan Electric Cooperative (Akelco) covered by the Nabas and Lezo substations.

They include the towns of Tangalan, Malinao, Lezo, Nabas, and Makato; portions of Ibajay and Nabas; and Barangay Bagongbayan, Buruanga.

Also set to be affected by the power interruption are the towns of Pandan and Libertad in Antique, which Akelco serves.

Electric consumers were advised to “take the necessary precautions and preparations for the scheduled power outage,” the NGCP said.

Normal operations will resume after the maintenance work, the power agency said.

Akelco, on the other hand, will implement a power interruption on Nov. 2 from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. to replace a rotten pole at the Trinidad refilling station.

Areas set to be affected are Barangay Caticlan, Malay, Aklan, including the Caticlan jetty port and the Caticlan airport (Godofredo P. Ramos Airport). (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
