ILOILO City – Residents of Barangay Jereos, La Paz district found an unexploded hand grenade in the village yesterday.
Operatives from the Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD) of the Police Regional Office 6 retrieved the explosive.
The hand grenade was wrapped with carton when several residents discovered it at around 11 a.m., a police report showed.
It still had its safety pin but would have definitely caused harm if it detonated in someone’s possession or in public, said Senior Inspector Hurdan Bacalangco, EOD chief.
Police have yet to determine who left the explosive./PN
