SAN JOSE, Antique – The provincial government of Antique and the municipality of San Jose are vying for this year’s Search for Excellence in Local Governance (EXCELL) awards.
EXCELL recognizes achievements and best practices of local government units in areas of administration, social services, economic development, and environmental management.
San Jose has been declared champion in the 1st to 3rd municipality category of EXCELL for the last two years.
Mayor Elmer Untaran said he hopes that the town will once again bag this year’s championship title.
The winners will be conferred with a plaque and cash award to be given during the Pagdayaw – an annual event of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 6 – which is usually held every December.
LGOO V Ildefonso Orquejo Jr. of DILG Region 6 led the regional assessment committee composed of representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Labor and Employment, Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine National Police, Department of Budget Management, Civil Service Commission, and nongovernment organizations.
