SAN JOSE, Antique – Farming households in the province are up for a survey under the 2017 Listing of Farm Households of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Provincial Statistics Officer Jesus Escote Jr. said the government-sponsored survey involves persons in the agriculture sector: crop farm and livestock farm owners and workers, among others.
The listing aims to update the agricultural-based survey frame by gathering information from farming households and their farm operators.
The survey covers over 10,000 households in 39 barangays in the province. It started second week of September and will end third week of December.
PSA hired 10 field enumerators and two team supervisors for the survey.
The household members will be asked about the details of their farm/holding including the legal status of the holder, number, physical area, location, tenure status and main use of parcel, presence of irrigation facility, kind of crops, kind and number of head of poultry and livestock, and other necessary information, PSA said.
Only those households whose member/s operated a farm from September 2016 to August 2017 will be included in the survey.
Escota urged housed members to give accurate information for the survey.
The gathered information will be treated with utmost confidentiality, Escota said.
PSA also tapped barangay officials for the conduct of the survey. (PIA/PN)
