ILOILO City – Men he did not know attacked him at a basement of a hotel on Iznart Street, a resident of Dingle, Iloilo told the police.

Eddie Dazo, 29, of Muyco Street, Barangay Poblacion, Dingle sustained a laceration on the head, a police report showed.

Dazo was bound for home with a coworker around 11:30 p.m. on Monday on Iznart Street when several men charged at them.

There were about eight of them, Dazo said. One of them took a swing at him but missed, prompting him to run away, he said.

But the men chased them until they reached the basement of Iloilo Grand Hotel.

One of them confronted Dazo and struck him using an unidentified hard object, the complainant told the police.

Dazo was referred to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.

Police were still trying to identify the suspects as of this writing./PN
