ILOILO City – Accused of threatening another person, a knife-wielding resident of Barangay Don Esteban, Lapuz district was arrested.
The 62-year-old Fabian Oñang was detained at the La Paz police station.
Robert John Elipio, 24, of Barangay Rizal Ibarra, City Proper reported him to the police.
Elipio said he was inside Gibbs Cellphone Accessories store on Luna Street, La Paz at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday when Oñang threatened him.
According to Elipio, Oñang drew out a knife and said, “Indi kamo mag-lango-lango kay pangpatyon ta kamo.”
Officers seized the knife from Oñang.
His mother told the police she just asked Oñang to have their knives sharpened in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao. She was surprised to receive a call that her son was hauled to jail, a police report stated.
The police report did not name the mother.
According to the mother, Oñang would usually cause trouble whenever he gets drunk, the police said.
Oñang was released from detention at around 1:30 p.m. yesterday./PN
